ANDRUS children and staff perform a cover of the song What If.


Alpacas at ANDRUS: Day 1

Amidst the oohs and aahs from an enthusiastic welcoming party of youth, staff and ANDRUS supporters, three alpacas strutted proudly for the first time at their new home. The trio is the latest addition to the nonprofit’s animal-assisted therapy program located on ANDRUS’ 107-acre campus. The alpacas join a cadre of goats, sheep, chickens and dogs that have adoring fans who benefit from petting, feeding and nurturing them throughout the year.

In way of introduction, outgoing Zingaro, dubbed “The Mayor,” is a gray six-year-old; Phoenix is a velvety black five-year-old alpaca and Amadeo (3) has dark brown fleece.
